This video is a tutorial of how to do light painting which me and Abbi have decided to use for the opening to our 'Trapped' short movie. This video explains what you need, how you do it and what setting you need on your camera and more. This video really helped me and Abbi to get the right settings for us to achieve a perfect opening sequence for our film.
Light painting is opening the exposure long enough to use a light source
First you need a camera with the exposure settings set to 10-15 seconds. You will also need a tripod to keep the camera secure and still. Lastly you will need a light source, either a torch or a strobe light the camera you use must have a manual setting which will allow you to adjust the shutter speed

blog post 6
In these lessons we went onto a website called the art of the title to look at well known films opening sequences to get ideas for our 'Trapped' opening sequence. Me and Abbi decided to make the opening sequence a kind of hint to what is going to happen in our 'Trapped' short film. Our opening scene is going to consist of flickering images of me getting ready for the party, and the woods, then at the end of the opening sequence its going to turn to me looking really scared and heavy breathing. After this the film is going to begin right from the start, so during the opening sequence the audience would become really gripped and intrigued to see what is going to happen in the film.

trapped target audience member
In this session we had to make a spider diagram of the types of brands our audience member would like. This is my idea of what our audience member for our 'Trapped' short film would be interested in. I think that the audience member would like these sort of things, because, based on our ideas for our trapped short film I would enjoy a film like this, and these are the kind of things that I am interested in. Some of the brands in the diagram, such as the alcohol and the clothing brands are used in our film,so if the audience and the character in the film are using the same product, the audience member feels as if they are linked to the protagonist.

trapped mood board
in this lesson i made my trapped mood board i used pictures that would be represented in our trapped short film and the setting of our film in process, the the split pathway inthe moodboard is very important as in film me and abbi are stuck between the road we know and the woods and have to make a very tough desision on which way to go. Each one of these pictures tell the story of our film in process.

find your tribe
In this lesson we had to go onto find your tribe.co.uk and answer a series of questions to find out which social group we are in. The answer i got was that i was a 'rah' this is not very correct, as from the description it makes out that i am rich, and have no value for money. I do wear jack wills and abercrombie, however i do not think i am like the description they had for the group i am apparently in. The test said that i also show signs of being a chav, which is completely un true as there is literally nothing chavvy about me. I do not think that people should really do these questions to see what group they are in as based on the answer i got i don't think that the test is very accurate.

trapped initial planning part 2
the next part of our planning for our film was to set our final idea for a film out on to a clear timeline, with our ideas set out into a beginning, middle and end format. This made the planning a lot easier as it was set out in a clear, organized way. Our final idea was for a girl to take a short cut through the woods to get to a party that she is running late for. She soon feels as if she is being watched and followed, as she becomes scared there is going to be a lot of close ups on her face so you can see how she is feeling. We then add a twist to the story, her friend who is also late for the party, comes up behind her, so she thinks that the person chasing her is actually her friend. However, when she thinks she is safe a person comes out of the woods and attacks her and drags her off. I think that this adds a lot of drama and twists in a short amount of time and is very effective.
trapped initial planning
in this lesson we had to plan ideas for our 'trapped' short film. We had to think of a scenario in which the character/characters were trapped. We watched a short film called Desserts to get an idea of how to create drama and effect in a short amount of time. The title 'Trapped' to me, insinuates that the film should have a lot of drama. Every groups film had to incorporate the title into the film, so the character had to be trapped in some sort of way. Me, Richard and Sam decided that it would be a lot easier and more organized if the victim of being trapped was only one character, rather than a larger group as this would be harder to film. In the initial planning of the film, we had decided that the character would be trapped in the woods. We thought that this would have a lot of effect and drama in a short space of time.
