logo ident

When we did our logo ident, we were developing our logo ideas on photoshop. We used 3 or 4 layers on photoshop to create our logo and used different pictures to create the logo. I used a spade picture from photoshop to use as my logo picture, as i thought this was quite an original logo. We then used a website called dafont to select and download which font we wanted for our logo company name. I called my logo company, 'ace of spades productions' as i thought this was quite good, as it actually related to the spade picture. q1) the thing i found most difficult to do on photoshop, was to create the logo,and make it look how i wanted it too, in the end i got there, and now know how to do it, so i have learnt something q2) q3) the thing i am most pleased was, was that i actually got my logo done, as at first i didn't really know what to do and became quite annoyed but once i had understood what to do i was more confident in using photoshop

media production company logo planning session

in this lesson we were planning our personal media production logo, we were given paper to draw and annotate our ideas and to develop any that we thought would work well. Everybody's idea's for their logo were individual, and we thought and developed our logos to how we wanted them to look and to how we thought would look good.

logo research session

In this session, we were researching logos of our choice and finding out information about them such as, what type of product it is, what the purpose of the product is etc. We were give a piece of paper where we had to write down the information we found out about the company, draw a picture of the logo with annotations about the font and colour. The two logos i picked were Chanel and Jack wills, i chose to do these because i like the style of them.

photoshop skills session 1:club flyer task

the second thing that we had to produce on photoshop was a club flyer. We chose a  picture from flickr to put as our flyer background, relating to the music of our choice we then downloading the picture and opened it up in photoshop, making sure that the page was A5 and landscape. We then made the picture of our choice the background. After we done this we added other pictures that were related to music and blended it into the background so it looked like one picture instead of two separate ones. When we were happy with our background we had to name our club, and  write details on it such as opening/closing times,cost,what kind of music it was etc. We had to be very specific with the font and font colour as we wanted the font to stand out but still be readable. After we had put the text onto the flyer and we were happy with it we uploaded it to flickr and the flyer was complete.

photoshop skills session 1:earth & eye excercise

In our first lesson, we produced an earth and eye picture. We used two pictures to create this image. First of all we collected an image of the earth off flickr and opened it up in photo shop,we also did the same with the eye picture. We moved the picture of the earth so it was on the same page as the eye and used a tool to cut out the remaining area of the earth picture so we were just left with the earth and not the background. After this we used the eye picture as a guide so we knew how much we needed to reduce/increase the size of the earth picture so it fitted well with the iris in the eye picture. Once we had the earth the same size as the iris we used the blending tool so that the earth picture blended in with the eye and looked like the iris. After this we had completed our picture, however some people,including myself chose to edit the picture to make the earth iris stand out more, using the tools on photo shop, i clicked on the different layers on the bottom right hand size and edited them to how i thought looked good,and made it stand out. I made the background of the eye black and white , and the iris a bright cyan colour.I liked this look because the iris was the main focus in the picture, after this i saved my work and uploaded it to flickr then it was complete.
